To Our Valued Colleagues and Patients:
Over the last six weeks of the COVID-19 crisis, Northeast Oral Surgery has remained open, serving our resilient community for emergency Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in our North Andover office as well as at Lawrence General Hospital. This has been nothing short of a challenging time for all first responders and healthcare workers on the front lines.
There are several steps our office has taken to adhere to our new “normal”. Our office has taken on a few new changes in appearance to comply with new safety regulations. We have closed our reception area to patients to reduce the possible spread of the virus. We have also added plexiglass to our check-in and check-out windows to protect our staff and patient's safety. In addition, we have adjusted our surgical techniques to limit aerosolization. We continue to follow the daily recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Public Health.
A separate area of the office has a dedicated "staging area” where the staff can outfit themselves in their personal protective equipment (PPE). Each doctor and surgical assistant are outfitted with a surgical gown, N95 mask covered with a surgical mask, face shield and surgical cap. All with the exception of the N95 mask are discarded after each procedure. Proper use of appropriate PPE is how we can best protect ourselves and our patients.
When the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is able to enter Phase I recovery, Northeast Oral Surgery will be here to serve all elective and emergency patients. It has been our honor to serve this community for the last 30 years. We look forward to a bright future and will remain dedicated to excellence in patient care.
