Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a unique dental specialty, because doctors are trained in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as in Anesthesia. Stringent residency training requirements for our doctors at Northeast Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center included both surgical and anesthetic management for each patient – in hospital and outpatient settings. Our practice provides a full range of pain-free anesthesia options with state-of-the-art monitoring systems for the comfort of our patients.
These options include local anesthesia in combination with:
- Oral Conscious Sedation
- Nitrous Oxide
- Intravenous (IV) Sedation and General Anesthesia
Our doctors and entire staff routinely train for any anesthetic or surgical emergency that could arise. Dr. Shannon and Dr. Hunter have been certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Our surgical staff is comprised of experienced, licensed surgical assistants. They provide constant patient care and monitoring from the time patients enter our state-of-the-art treatment rooms, until patients exit our office. Our surgical assistant are certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
